/ world today news/ Macron’s European policy is frankly hostile to our national interest. Macron’s noisy visit to Athens showed how “successful” his visit to Varna was, especially for Bulgaria.
This is what the deputy chairman of the DSB Radan Kanev believes on the occasion of the visit of the French president to Bulgaria on August 25 in Varna. Radan Kanev describes the highlights as follows:
1) Political leadership, budget and parliament of the Eurozone, i.e. not just “two/multi-speed Europe” but real Europe and some peripheries.
(With the election of a Eurozone parliament that votes a real budget and elects executive bodies, the importance of the European Parliament will be the same as that of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie…)
2) Social and tax harmonization of the EU as a synonym for “solidarity”, i.e. a policy to equalize politically controlled incomes (not all!), social standards and taxes to those of rich welfare states.
(This will not just bankrupt the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, but in all probability will bankrupt the entire EU, in a desperate attempt to preserve a demographically depleted social model)
3) Not a word about the integration of the Republic of Macedonia. NOT A WORD. And this in the country on which Skopje’s acceptance into NATO and the EU actually depends.
Points 1) and 2) are political taboos for Bulgaria, everything we have to fight against in our politics as a member of the EU. Point 3) is our national top priority and key to security in the Balkans for decades to come.
“And let’s be clear – I am a firm supporter of a United Europe (not divided into three speeds and two parliaments, three budgets and six executive bodies) and I think that Macron, if he is tamed and put on the rails, is a chance in that direction However, Macron’s current European policy is openly hostile to our national interest, and his request in Greece testifies to a serious failure of Bulgarian diplomacy in Euxinograd,” says Radan Kanev.
