GERB legitimizes the return of the “Magnitski” sanctioned by the law Delyan Peevski through the actions of its regional coordinator and mayor of Veliko Tarnovo. This was said by the candidate for MP from “Democratic Bulgaria” Antoaneta Tsoneva to BTV.
The reason for her comments was the meeting of the candidate for MP from the MRF in Veliko Tarnovo with the mayor of the city Daniel Panov last week. He received a MRF delegation with the participation of Peevski, and today the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov said that Panov was at the meeting in his capacity as chairman of the Association of Municipalities.
“Peevski was greeted with great jokes by the mayor of GERB and they drank chocolates. What does GERB show with this behavior, since he is also their regional coordinator? GERB practically legitimizes this man and his return to political life without any hesitation. “, said Tsoneva.
Earlier in the day, Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Hristo Ivanov called on other candidates and parties in Veliko Tarnovo not to support Delyan Peevski. He stressed that his appeal did not include GERB because of its apparent support for the MRF and Peevski. Ivanov is the leader of the unification list in the city.
“He (ed. Daniel Panov) is not a civic candidate of GERB. He is a man who occupies a place in the party hierarchy. He is extremely valuable in Borisov’s entourage,” Hristo Ivanov said.
He called on the leaders of the other lists to distance themselves from Peevski and to urge their voters not to support the MRF and Peevski.
