This year their team looks anything but scary.
There’s a lot going on about Mbappé’s genius. But otherwise it’s nothing special anymore
Expensive transfers have been made (Ramos, Muani, Dembele, Barcola), but these are largely not working (yet). A Dembouz does not shine with the shine that he made for us and to some extent also for Barcelona. Perhaps Messi’s departure was underestimated a bit, as he was ultimately the pacesetter last season. And even Neymar, as much as he is often laughed at in this country, ended up with more scorer points than games after his PSG time, despite long periods of injury.
Clear. The offensive with Neymar, Mbappé and Messi was unpredictable.
I have the feeling that they want to force everything. Many transfers seem a little arbitrary.
I briefly thought that they had gradually understood the great potential that lies dormant in their academy. And what’s more, as a virtual monopolist in France, they still have the huge pool of talent from Ligue 1 on their doorstep.
I think they should just build a homogeneous and talented team and let things come to them.
Egos like Mbappé’s etc. don’t help
In the meantime, too many coaches are being burned at PSG in order to build something sustainably. Who was actually there for a long time after the Tuchel era? Pochettino 1.5 years, Galtier only one season, now Luis Enrique should try to achieve the impossible (Henkelpott), although PSG is clearly behind Real, City, Bayern in terms of quality and probably currently also ahead of Atletico, Arsenal or Inter Milan stinks.
I was hoping that Qatar would lose interest at some point if they “just” became permanent champions in Ligue1, but they still seem to be holding on to that, also because the expenditure compares with the Qatari investment fund (300 billion or something like that ?) are still ridiculously small.
