The coach of the Slovak hockey team Craig Ramsay has been working for several years to build a new generation that will give stable performances at the championships every year. He has now sealed his many years of work with a very young roster that managed to win a valuable bronze medal at the Beijing Olympics.
“In the 50 years or more I’ve been playing hockey, I haven’t seen a team where every single player has laid down their lives to win a match. The communication on the inverter and on the ice was unreal and then you know you are one team. I trusted these players from day one … “ said the Canadian coach on the performance margin of the Slovak national team.
SZĽH President Miroslav Šatan also believes that this success will bring us a new interest in hockey and more attention.
So Slovakia has again become, at least for a while, a big hockey power with a lot of fans. Since the national team themselves do not have much experience with national hockey, we have prepared a (simple for experts) quiz in which you can test how well you know the bronze medalists.
