Horror movies often provide viewers with hemoglobin-filled scenes. But it’s not just this specific genre that puts blood in the spotlight. The proof with this quiz in nine questions!
Blood, that lifeblood that flows through all of us, has often been used in cinema – most often in the horror and fantasy genres – to mark the minds of viewers. Some scenes still remain in our memory.
The oldest generations, for example, were able to be strongly impressed by one of the strong scenes of Cecil B. DeMille’s 10 Commandments, when Moses (Charlton Heston) appears before Ramses II (Yul Brynner) during the Khnum festival and changes the waters of the Nile into a river of blood.
Another more recent example, during the 90s, in the introduction of the film Blade by Stephen Norrington. We see a young man going to a clandestine rave party in the backyard of a cold room.
The party is in full swing until a drop of blood falls on him, before the valves fully open, transforming the dancefloor into a veritable giant shower of hemoglobin. Our poor unfortunate will then realize that he is in the middle of a vampiric party. Fortunately Blade will intervene to get him out of this mess.
Last example even more recent with the new adaptation of Stephen King’s novel It to the cinema by director Andy Muschietti in 2018 when the young Beverly hears voices seeming to come from the sink of her bathroom. She approaches it trying to probe the piping, and it is then a veritable fountain of blood that gushes out and covers all the walls of the room, leaving the poor young girl totally panicked.
If you had in mind other bloody scenes from the cinema, more iconic, it is perhaps that they are waiting for you in this one hundred percent “blood” quiz. Nine films to recognize, it’s up to you!
