The British film by Bryan Singer and Dexter Fletcher from 2018, bearing the name of the hit of the same name by the legendary rock group Queen, brings closer not only the functioning of the entire band, but also the life of its frontman Freddie Mercury.

Probably not many people know him by his original name, he became famous only under the latter: Freddie Mercury. This British singer of Indian origin became a musical legend with his band Queen. He was interested in music from a young age and reportedly he could play the pieces he had just heard on the piano on the radio.

The first mentions of the planned production of the film Bohemia Rhapsody were made in the media in 2010. However, in 2013, the production of the film was interrupted for 3 years due to disagreements. The premiere took place only after eight long years 24 October 2018 in Britain. Czech viewers had to wait a week longer.
Although it is largely a documentary film, there are some inaccuracies compared to reality. Unlike the film adaptation, the group Queen never broke upand therefore the concert Live Aid he was not her return. At the same time, Freddie Mercury had known the diagnosis of HIV infection since 1987 and did not learn it a few moments before this concert. Otherwise, they appear in the film story situations written on the basis of real events.
At the time of its release, the film went on to gross over $800,000,000 highest grossing film in the biographical and dramatic genre category. The fame of the film was brought not only by great audience success, but also by several film award nominations. The movie was nominated for an Oscarin five categories, and also on the Golden Globe Award, which he won in the categories of Best Picture and Best Male Performance.
