Two answers, to be completely exact, because this Quintessenza RS is not the first Porsche that the Dutch have electrified. Their Quintessenza already saw the light of day about four years ago as a first-generation 911 with a daring heart transplant. The iconic flat-6 in the rear of the sports car has been replaced by an electric motor with around 220 hp. Still, the Helmond promoters must have thought they could do better…
Ten years less
Today, Extrovert Cars pulls out the superlative of its Quintessenza, and it follows the naming convention used by Porsche. The reinforced version is now known as Quintessenza RS and received an exterior design in the style of the old Carrera RS. But make no mistake: the Dutch didn’t cannibalize an original Porsche Carrera RS to make this creation. Instead, under that sheet metal is the chassis of a young 1980s 930 generation Porsche 911, also known as the Model G.
“Ducktail” included
The RS has been completely stripped, just like its regular sister Quintessenza, and given an anti-corrosion zinc coating, after which the body is clad in new bodywork that is more in line with the first generation 911. The RS also gets a spoiler ducktail and more aerodynamic bumpers like those of the original Porsche, and when painted it gets the same stripes on the sides that one would associate with a 70s Carrera RS.
SR price
The biggest changes are under the skin, because as befits a car with “RS” lettering, this Quintessenza will also be more powerful than its peers. The electric motor spits out 308 hp and 700 Nm of torque, the car is equipped with sporty adaptive dampers and the braking system has been improved. In addition, the electro-911 has a battery pack of 59 kWh in total, which the manufacturers say is split front and rear to ensure better balance than the original model. While a Quintessenza costs around €300,000, the RS is priced at €399,990.
