Quintana Roo Health Secretariat Blood Donation Campaign Aimed at Saving Lives

News Channel 10.- With the aim of saving more lives, the Quintana Roo Health Secretariat, in collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate and the Comprehensive Hospital, has carried out a Blood Donation campaign. This initiative seeks to raise awareness and sensitize the population about the importance of donating blood, since it may be necessary at any time.

According to information provided by the Municipal Health Directorate, blood donation contributes to blood regeneration, which in turn promotes health. Scientific studies have shown that people who donate blood regularly have a lower risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, the community is invited to participate in the next donation campaigns that will be carried out throughout the year, highlighting that a donation can save up to three lives.

Among the requirements to donate blood are: being between 18 and 65 years old, weighing at least 50 kilograms, not having undergone surgery in the last 6 months, not having had tattoos, piercings or acupuncture in the last 12 months, not having received organ transplants, not using intravenous or inhaled drugs, not being pregnant or lactating at the time of donation, and not presenting symptoms such as cough, cold, headaches or abdominal pain on the day of donation.
