Quinchamalí invites you to learn about its heritage with mistela, workshops, clay treading and more – La Discusión

On May 26, 27 and 28, the Quinchamalí “La Guitarrera” Events Center will dress up in its best outfits to receive “Quinchamalí shows its heritage”, an activity organized by the Chillán Municipality Tourism Department and which seeks to value the importance of the pottery town and its ceramics, which has carried the name of the country beyond our borders.

The local Committee of Potters has also participated in the planning of the event that promises to attract the public throughout the designated weekend, an opportunity for families to attend and participate in the activities prepared that include pottery workshops, clay treading, mateadas and folkloric groups that will liven up the days.

“We are happy to be able to work together with our potters since they were recognized as our own patrimony, which is why we wanted to join the initiative of our potters and be able to accompany them in these activities that are so beautiful and so nutritious, it is not true , as is the heritage of Quinchamalí”, said the director of Tourism, Rosy Molina.

The Municipal Delegate of Quinchamalí, Solange Ceballos, reported that at the same time, “Quinchamalí shows its heritage” will place significant emphasis on traditional gastronomy, with stagings created by chefs who are members of the Chilean Gastronomic Federation (Fegach), who will perform two attractive Cooking Shows at noon on Saturday and Sunday.

“We expect a significant influx of public thanks to the transfer buses that the organization has prepared to deliver an increasingly complete service,” he said.

“We are going to be receiving them with the typical mistela and the rosquita. To all those who visit us, we are going to have mateadas, pottery workshops and they are going to go stepping on clay too, so the activity will be very entertaining. We are working together with the gastronomic sector of Quinchamalí, to show everything that is our heritage with an exhibition of old pieces”, said the potter, Nayadet Núñez Rodríguez.

The inscriptions for the places in the approach buses opened last Wednesday at the Tourist Information Center and have quickly sold out, as is the case with the activities of the management that are promoted through their social networks.

The scheduled departures are arranged on Saturday 27 at 11:30, 12 and 14:30, while for Sunday 28 the departure times, also from the Plaza de Armas, are set at 11:30, 12:45 and 14:30.
