A bodypainting performance to the rhythm of the catchy Deep House by Quimper DJ Alex Dahlka, all filmed in the Le Majestic nightclub, in Quimper (Finistère). For its first video, broadcast on January 6, 2021, the team of Nakama’art wished to hit hard, and “To exalt the visual and auditory senses” Internet users.
A self-funded platform
This medium, imagined at the start of the confinement of March 2020 by Quimpérois Erwan Croq, 28, combines discovery of heritage and electronic music. It must be said that the young man, who works in the field of electro and urban music within Névez production, knows the DJs and collectives of the department well.
“I saw a lot of artists mixing live on Facebook during the lockdown in March, that’s how I got the idea to create performances integrating local talents”, explains the Quimpérois, holder of a master’s degree in Arts and entertainment. First challenge: find a partner who knows how to design and edit videos. Erwan Croq contacted Pierre Matis (alias “Pims”), videographer and drone pilot in the Navy. Production, equipment, travel… The creator of Nakama’art himself finances the costs incurred by the shootings, which began last April.
“A beautiful showcase for artists”
“I don’t want to do crowdfunding right now. I hire what I can. It makes a great showcase for the artists, that’s what I’m offering them for now in return. “ Erwan Croq launches a call to all local talents who might be interested in the project, professional or not. On one condition: “Let it be original and unusual. “
Ultimately, he would like to create a festival: “It would be a way of thanking the artists, and it would allow the public to meet them in the flesh”, he enthuses. For now, Erwan Croq plans to release a video every two months. For the next one, which will be released on March 3, 2021, “We filmed with a drone, in the open air. It will be much more dynamic than the first. “
Acrobats, fire eater, sculptor …
The Quimpérois, who keeps the mystery about the content of his next achievements, still gives some clues: “We have worked with acrobats, fire eaters, an aerial fabric specialist, and our project is to achieve a timelapse (video edited from photos taken at regular intervals) with a woodcarver. “
