In Concarneau, the Filets Bleus festival is an event. And it is customary to let yourself be carried away by the festive and popular wave. This 37-year-old Fouesnantais, who appeared this Friday, August 16 before the Quimper judicial court, let himself be overwhelmed. “I had been partying for two days. I had already drunk too much the day before,” said the defendant. On August 11, the police were called to a fight in front of one of the entrances. It was late afternoon and families were flocking to the site in large numbers. When they arrived, the police officers discovered a bare-chested man, a turban on his head and his arms reddened with blood. A pint of beer in his hand, he shouted vehement remarks. “A pitiful scene,” deplored the public prosecutor.
A confession letter from the accused
This behavior, which warrants arrest, will deteriorate. This is followed by blows by the defendant, spitting, threats and insults. An outburst that redoubles in violence in the car. “The police vehicle almost left the road following one of your kicks,” reported the lawyer for the civil party. One of the police officers will be issued with six days of temporary work interruption (ITT).
“I’m a pain when I’ve been drinking,” apologized the defendant, who already has several mentions on his criminal record. “My problem is mainly drugs, heroin that I take intravenously. I stopped everything. I entered adulthood not long ago,” admitted the man who has just created his own business helping people. “I want to get out of it,” promised the Fouesnantais, who took the initiative to write a confession letter during his few days in detention. A letter that he read in front of the magistrates and whose words undoubtedly resonated and weighed when it came time to deliberate.
The defendant was sentenced by the magistrates to six months in prison, suspended, under electronic monitoring.
