Queues at Wien Energie: “It’s a disaster” – Vienna

“R 50! R 50!” shouts a security guard into the crowded waiting room of the Wien Energie customer center. No reaction. “He must have given up and left again,” one hears other people waiting whisper. Around 600 people come to the service center every day, 10,000 customers call customer service every day, and 4,500 e-mails come in. According to Wien Energie, there have been more inquiries than ever before. The reason: People can no longer pay their electricity and gas bills.
