queue: – It was chaos

On Wednesday afternoon, problems arose with the luggage system at Tromsø airport, according to NRK Troms. This led to long queues.

– It was chaos when I came. The luggage belt went on strike and luggage was not delivered for a while, Roy Svartsund tells Dagbladet.

One hour in line

Svartsund is on its way to Lørenskog, where Christmas will be celebrated with family. When he talks to Dagbladet, he has gotten through the security check and is going to board the plane. But the start of the journey did not go smoothly.

– On December 22, it will of course happen, he says and refers to the big outing day.

– There was someone who told me that today you should be out early, just in case. I came here at 12.30 and stood in line for an hour, he continues.

– In the picture you have shared, does it look like there were a lot of people in line?

– Yes. And then I had come a long way in the queue. There were just as many behind. But it went well eventually.

– The headband stopped for half an hour, but it has been fixed again now, but there are minor delays from Tromsø due to this, says Ivar Helsing Schrøen, Airport Manager Tromsø, according to Northern Lights.

– The busiest day

A lot of traffic is expected at the airports today. Many people are going home for Christmas, and today has been stamped as the big day out.

When Dagbladet visited Gardermoen on Wednesday morning, the first rush was over. Still, there were long queues at the airport.

– This is the busiest day of the year, but also tomorrow we will see some traffic. Then the last travelers will go home for Christmas, Harald Kvam, communications manager at Oslo Airport, told Dagbladet.

According to Kvam, almost 60,000 passengers are expected from Oslo Airport today.
