Wired earphones haven’t been the primary focus of technology developers for a few years now. The wireless revolution has led to the production of a whole range of headphones and earbuds, and some attribute this change in design philosophy to Apple deciding to remove the 3.5mm audio jack from its devices a few years ago. But despite this, Questyle, a hi-fi brand for enthusiasts, wants to kick-start a renaissance for wired earphones.
This happens in the form of the sound technology company’s NHB15 True Lossless Earphonea device that allows you to enjoy 192K Hi-Res lossless music from your smartphone, tablet or computer while connecting to your device via a USB-C cable.
The earphones have an advanced processing component that keeps you informed of what music quality you’re listening to (ie 48K or 192K, not whether it thinks your music taste is good or bad…), as well as a silver-plated OFC cable that really sells this wired the product.
The NHB15 will cost just under £315, confirming that this wired system isn’t intended for anyone looking to replace the £10 Skullcandy earphones they bought in an airport three years ago.
