The list of 33 candidates for ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) is listed by name Fadjroel Rachman. The position currently held by Fadjroel is the spokesman for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). There is still a question mark about the position of presidential spokesman if Fadjroel serves as the Indonesian ambassador.
The 33 names of the outstanding Indonesian ambassador candidates have been confirmed by the leadership of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives. The 33 names will reportedly undergo due diligence at Commission I in July 2021.
“God willing, Commission I will conduct a fit and proper test in the second week of July,” said the Chairman of Commission I, Meutya Hafid, to reporters on Friday (25/6/2021).
Of these names, there are a number of other names, such as the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rosan Roeslani, who will become a candidate for the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States (US) and the name Zuhairi Misrawi, a candidate for the Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia. Meanwhile, Fadjroel Rachman’s name is written as a candidate for the Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
Fadjroel Rachman admitted that there was no problem where President Jokowi was placed. Fadjroel said the state task given by President Jokowi was a noble task.
“Any task that President Joko Widodo has directed to me is a priceless gift,” said Fadjroel via text message, Friday (6/25/2021).
Then, leaving a question mark, what about the position of presidential spokesman that will be left by Fadjroel? The Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Ali Mochtar Ngabalin said that it was possible that there would be no longer a spokesman for President Jokowi after Fadjroel Rachman became the Indonesian ambassador.

“Maybe not (there will be another presidential spokesman), because later on whether the President will appoint a special staff for communication or not, I think God willing, things will run as usual,” said Ngabalin when contacted, Saturday (26/6/2021).
Ngabalin said that for more than a year, President Jokowi has often delivered his statements directly. Therefore, the position of presidential spokesman will most likely cease to exist after Fadjroel Rachman becomes ambassador.
“Yes (perhaps not), because if I’m not mistaken it’s the spokesman’s job, it’s been almost a year or more, the President has taken it straight away,” he added.
According to Ngabalin, so far President Jokowi has given direct statements and explanations. The Minister of State Secretary, Minister of Cabinet, KSP, to the special staff in the field of communication then confirmed President Jokowi’s statement if there were public questions.
