Answer

If you are interested in healthy eating and searching for information on the Internet, it is very likely that you will fall into the trap of their algorithms. For example, a shiny banner with a “threatening” message like “Eat these five products and watch miracles happen!” ” or “The main cause of obesity – you will be surprised!”, not to mention “The truth can no longer be hidden, the ingredient that makes us sick is known!”

Have you ever, after watching an interesting show on a video sharing site, start getting offers (based on your choice of site and results) to watch videos with interesting titles like: “I’m 62.

These are the three things I will never eat!” etc.? Isn’t it even stranger that the decline of human health can be blamed on even just one ingredient, which – on the other hand – is always present in highly marketed, highly processed, ready-to-eat foods? eat? Lately, I’ve been very happy with disdain for the “seed oil” or the fats obtained from seeds. This category includes the famous sunflower, as well as sesame, rape and many others. I myself have never supported the use of often extracted fats (oil types fall right there), I even advise people, and especially those that are too heavy, avoid them. But things are going too far in social media and mass food marketing to promote dubious supplements, products, or scientifically strange diets. This is what I call the “elephant in the room” – this Anglo-Saxon expression means that we look at small things and blame them for some problems, instead of seeing the great trouble that literally raises our eyes.

And the problem is not a particular ingredient or two in the foods we buy. And the fact that we buy and eat highly processed foods, with high calorie content, with a bouquet of artificial ingredients! The high calorie content of these foods is not aimed at satisfying us and providing the body with macro- and micro-nutrients that are valuable for health. On the contrary – the goal is to eat as much as they can. Every second person has the “guilt” of salty and fatty chips, which he cannot stop eating, even if the package of 100 says “4 servings” – where the nutritional information is. Don’t you think it is at least hypocritical of the manufacturer to offer this knowing that no one is going to split the pack into 4? The big problem is not only in the oil, only in sugar, white flour, salt, colors, preservatives, etc., but in the cumulative effect of the excessive consumption – through the food so-called waste. Or junk food, as we call ready-to-eat foods in bulk. This is the elephant in the room!

Most users do not understand how many calories they put into their body “at least”. I’m even sure that the calories from junk food as many people call it are higher than those from adequate food sources – from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes…

They contain fiber that highly processed foods do not. They can be prepared in a very tasty way, but nevertheless we hardly overdo it. Can they help us feel full and fight toxic hunger – and how! I will give another example – a salad of seasonal vegetables with sunflower oil or chips, “crunchies” or similar with the same amount of oil? Will the effect on the body of that ingredient be the same? Almost! However, if possible, the best option is to have a dressing based on sunflower seeds on the salad, so we make the most of the useful ingredients from that plant.
