At the turn of an observation, Quentin Tarantino draws an analogy between the musicals of the 1960s and the current superhero films, declaring that “the directors of today are anxious to witness their downfall”. It was enough for the journalist to question the director about his lack of desire to make a Marvel or DC movie.
The honesty of the answer is not surprising given Tarantino’s bluntness. The latter also took advantage of it, a moment attached to the Star Trek license to bring his vision of entertainment cinema, saying he was transported to the time from “Star Wars”, but feel closer today to “Encounters of the third kind” for “the desire to make a spectacular epic for ordinary people, not just for spectators ”. Quentin Tarantino has nevertheless kept this straightforward filmmaker gaze that characterizes him so much, both in the interviews, and on paper and especially on film.
