What are Huawei’s orientations for the rest of 2021 in Morocco?
Huawei has entered 2021 with a growth strategy that combines diversification of its product portfolio and strengthening of the customer experience, in the continuity of the achievements that made our success in 2020 and previously.
This year, we are therefore focusing on increased diversification with new products, some that have never been marketed in Morocco, but also greater proximity to consumers. The entire Huawei value chain is concerned with the mobilization of our business expertise on the commercial, sales and after-sales service aspects. Huawei’s ecosystem is also at the center of our attention. After the successful openings of our two stores at the Morocco Mall and on Boulevard Zerktouni, as well as two after-sales centers in Casablanca and Fès, Huawei will continue in 2021 to expand its network with new stores and the development of current stores.
In addition, Huawei will continue to enrich the offer of its AppGallery, one of the three most used application platforms in the world with half a billion users every month. To boost its functionality, we will accelerate the ramp-up of Petal Search, the AppGallery application search tool, which will continue to grow throughout the year. Without forgetting the Super Device that we launched at the beginning of June with products at the cutting edge of technology, and that we will not hesitate to market locally in view of the appetite that Moroccans have for all new technology.
Can you do a half-yearly review of activity for Morocco, especially with the easing of health restrictions?
In Morocco, Huawei is making proximity to its ecosystem a priority. We mobilized during the confinement to simplify the daily life of our users with services and solutions such as HuaweiMall, Huawei Shop, free deliveries, after-sales service at home, an extension of the customer warranty … Like any crisis, this last has been a catalyst for change. Information and communication technologies are essential to effectively fight this virus, and they play a major role in reviving global economies. In Morocco, Huawei renewed its commitment to guarantee the stability of network operations and to lead the digital transformation. The national market is dynamic and we will respond to demand by continuing to diversify our offers in this context.
What is the interest of the launch of HarmonyOS for Moroccan users? And what is your assessment of it?
We want to provide our users with all that Huawei does best in terms of technology, ensuring our new ecosystem collaboration with hundreds of thousands of developers around the world, part of which is in Morocco. We also see HarmonyOS as more than just a mobile platform. Huawei is in fact developing a more global vision with a system that could be used on a wide range of devices, from Smart TVs to home automation products. It is with this in mind that we recently launched a Super Device product line that gives consumers access to a seamless and truly intelligent experience across multiple devices in all types of scenarios.
You have launched a new line of “Super Device” products worldwide. When will they arrive in Morocco and what is the added value of this range?
Our range of Super Device products will be available in Morocco in the middle of 2021. We started from an observation: although there are more smart devices than ever in our lives, the experience they offer is not always smart. Siled systems tend to complicate interconnectivity and operations, leading to a fragmented user experience. The Super Device experience is designed to solve this problem. It provides a common language for different types of devices to connect and collaborate, giving users a more convenient, smooth and secure experience. It uses distributed technology to meet the varied needs of all different types of devices with one system, allowing flexible deployment as needed. It also combines previously independent devices into a cohesive, holistic Super Device that integrates all hardware and resources to freely leverage the capabilities of its components according to the user’s real-time needs. Huawei has launched a range of smartwatches and tablets powered by HarmonyOS 2. This includes the Huawei Watch 3 | 3 Pro, the new 12.6-inch Huawei MatePad Pro, as well as the Huawei FreeBuds 4, wireless Bluetooth headphones. next-generation active noise cancellation (ANC), and two high-end monitors: the Huawei MateView and the Huawei MateView GT.
What are your predictions?
Morocco is a strategic market and Moroccans want quality products at competitive prices. Our choice is therefore to provide consumers with the best of our solutions in order to offer ever more diversity in all our successful series. In 2021 and beyond, Huawei will therefore reaffirm its commitment to the large-scale democratization of AI technology, but also to the importance of sealing as many partnerships as possible with our ecosystem. The products we launch are all designed to bring a much more connected and significantly more cohesive experience to millions of users, whether in their daily lives, at work, in their entertainment activities, for their health or for their fitness. There is also the firm desire to develop our relations with our partners and distributors by opening even more stores in Morocco as well as new meeting points with our ecosystem of partners and consumers. Our goal is to succeed in building an ever more connected world, in Morocco and elsewhere.
