Queen Máxima’s Golden Oldie Dress and UN Visit in Kenya

On the third and last day of her UN visit to Kenya, Máxima took a golden oldie out of her suitcase.

The Queen is visiting the Republic of Kenya as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). Improving the quality of digital financial services is central, in combination with the themes of ‘financial health’ and ‘inclusive green finance’.

Máxima’s dress from Natan is made of burgundy silk. The center front of the fitted bodice extends to a transverse seam at the hip. From here, one box pleat is created in the middle, while two flat pleats are created from the dividing seams. A separate pattern processing, which has been neatly executed.

We can now also call this a UN dress. This is the fourth time the garment has served in this context.

Before the dress could be used again after six years of vacation, it was extended. Are you curious about which other dresses had to be made longer? Then click here.

Our photographer for this trip, Patrick van Katwijk, makes fun and educational videos of the trip especially for us. Below you can see the images from yesterday, including a hugging Máxima.
