Queen Margrethe and Angela Merkel:

Denmark Queen Margrethe (81) and the son Crown Prince Frederik (53), was recently on a four-day state visit to the German capital Berlin.

In that connection, she met, among others, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel (67), but when they were to greet each other, things did not go quite as planned, writes among other Danes BT.

Marvelous queen

As is well known, Merkel was ready to welcome the queen with a big smile on her face, but as she arrived on the red carpet, some challenges arose.

It was when Merkel held out her hand to greet with a so-called “fist bump” that the queen seemed somewhat puzzled and rejected the handshake.

Because of the corona, however, Merkel can take comfort in the fact that there are still more who are skeptical, and do not quite know how people are comfortable greeting nowadays.

After the entire session was recorded on video, it has been featured in several countries.

There is no doubt that the whole of Germany has also received the greeting between the two powerful women. The German newspaper The world has, among other things, published an article about the incident.

Even the Russian channel RT has shared a video on Twitter of the meeting:

However, it does not end there, the Ugandan newspaper Sunday Vision goes so far as to claim that the Queen refuses to greet Merkel.

Also the British morning newspaper Daily Mail has managed to catch the session.

The latter have shared both video and photos, where they christened an article with the ornate title:

“No fist bump for Merkel! Queen Margrethe of Denmark let the German Chancellor’s hand hang ».
