Queen Elizabeth’s funeral coverage receives BAFTA nomination in media category

Queen Elizabeth’s funeral broadcast nominated for a BAFTA Television Award, the most important British television prize. The registration has a chance in the category for live registrations.

The other nominees in that category are Concert for Ukraine in Platinum Jubilee: Party at the Palacea concert for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Queen died on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96. The funeral was on September 19: the first British state funeral since the death of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The period of mourning, the funeral and everything surrounding the death of the Queen was broadcast live on the BBC.

This year’s BAFTA Television Awards will be presented on May 14 at the Royal Festival Hall in London. The evening is hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Of series This Is Going to Hurt in The Responder are the main contenders this year with six nominations each. Bad Sisters, The Crown, The English and Slow Horses have all been nominated five times.
