Difficult decision

The decision to no longer act like Queen Elizabeth’s double was a difficult one, says Reynolds.

– I just moved home and I have two boxes full of hats. I just found a place to put them, and then I thought: I won’t need them anymore.

Reynolds has never met the Queen herself, but says she was there during several important events in Queen Elizabeth’s life.

– I was at The Mall when she got married, and I was near The Mall for the coronation, she says.

The Mall is a street in London that leads up to Buckingham Palace. The street is closed to traffic on Sundays, ceremonial occasions and public holidays.

– I’ve had all these years of work, and that helped me earn some money, but at the same time it was a joy for people to see me and say, “That’s the queen.”

– There will never be anyone like her.
