Queen Elizabeth’s birthday celebrated with military parade | Royals

Last year she did it on her own and this year she was joined by her cousin Edward, the Duke of Kent. He is also the Colonel of the Scots Guards. Good weather

entertainment">The Trooping the Color parade has been held in honor of the British monarch’s birthday since 1748 and has been an annual event since 1820. Elizabeth’s great-grandfather Edward VII, who was king from 1901 to 1910 and whose birthday was in November, moved the parade to June to have a better chance of good weather. Since then, the parade is always on the first, second or third Saturday of June.
