Britain’s Queen Elizabeth became “tired and exhausted” from corona, she told patients and doctors during a digital visit to a London corona ward. In conversation with a patient, she briefly discussed how she herself felt when she contracted the disease in February.
The 95-year-old Elizabeth was present via video link at the official dedication of the department, which is named after her. The 155-bed Queen Elizabeth Unit was set up on two floors of the Royal London Hospital at the height of the pandemic. About 800 people have now been nursed.
Elizabeth spoke to a patient who contracted covid in December 2020. His brother and father died of the disease, he himself was seriously ill.
“It makes you so tired and exhausted, doesn’t it,” Elizabeth shared her experiences with Asef Hussain and his wife Shamina. “That horrible pandemic.”
