British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has responded to the news that Queen Elizabeth has spent a night in hospital this week.
“The Prime Minister’s best wishes have been passed on to Her Majesty,” a spokesman for 10 Downing Street said, according to several British media outlets. Johnson normally has weekly meetings with the Queen, but this week a spokesperson declined to say whether the audience had taken place.
The Queen spent a night at King Edward VII Hospital on Wednesday evening. That message came a few days after Buckingham Palace announced that the Queen had to take it easy on the advice of her doctors. For that reason, she canceled a trip to Northern Ireland.
Queen Elizabeth (95) is now back at Windsor Castle and, according to a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace, has been “in a good mood” at the lunch table.
