Queen Elizabeth (94) will not return to Buckingham Palace in London as usual after her summer stay in Balmoral, Scotland. Next week she will move with her husband to Sandringham House in Norfolk. “To spend time privately,” said a palace spokesman.

Only in October does the Queen return to Windsor Castle, where she previously isolated herself during the corona crisis. And then on to Buckingham Palace, where she will return to her royal duties little by little in mid-October. “For selected target groups”, it sounds.
Whether Prince Philip (99) will come with his wife remains a question mark for the time being. Perhaps he will stay in Sandringham, because a return might be too tiring given his age.

Whether the Queen will often visit Buckingham Palace in the fall will depend on the current corona measures and how the risk for the Queen is assessed.
It is also being looked into how the Queen can participate in the annual commemoration of the war dead on Remembrance Sunday on 8 November. She has not actively participated in the ceremony at the Cenetaph in London since 2016.
Her wreath was laid by Prince Charles, as she watched herself from the balcony of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office opposite.
It is still unclear to what extent the ever-massive ceremony, in which thousands of veterans participate, can continue this year.
