Queen Elizabeth continues to struggle with her health: she will not attend her own garden parties | Royalty

RoyaltyQueen Elizabeth (96) will soon not be present at the garden parties she organized at Buckingham Palace. She wants to thank the invitees, often involved in charitable organizations, for their efforts with these annual festivities. Reportedly, the Queen is not fit enough to attend the events.

The Buckingham Palace celebrations take place on May 11, 18 and 25. According to the British court, the queen will be replaced by relatives, whose names will be announced at a later date.

Elizabeth has been struggling with health problems for some time. For example, she got corona at the beginning of this year and she is no longer as mobile as before. According to British media, she would skip the garden parties because she is no longer able to stand for long periods. Elizabeth also canceled other activities earlier. This year, she only appeared in public at Prince Philip’s memorial service in London in March.

Due to the corona crisis, the events have been canceled for the past two years. The Queen also always throws a garden party at The Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland. This year it will take place on June 29. Elizabeth will not be there either.

God Save The Queen

Meanwhile, preparations for the festivities to mark the Queen’s 70th birthday on the British throne continue. The punk rock band Sex Pistols will re-release the song ‘God Save The Queen’, which caused a lot of commotion in 1977, on May 27. “One of the most sought-after vinyl records in history is back on the shelves,” the band said on Twitter. Only a limited number of copies will be available.

In the song, the Sex Pistols compare the UK to a “fascist regime” and call the queen “no human”. Radio and television stations tape the song. Despite this, ‘God Save The Queen’ reached number two in the UK charts.
