On the afternoon of the 8th, the ferry “Queen Coral Cross” collided with the quay while attempting to enter Wadomari Port on Okinoerabu Island.
This is a video taken by a viewer at Wadomari Port.
The “Queen Coral Cross” is moving near the quay, and work is being done to prepare for the berth, such as ropes being lowered from the ship, but there are no signs of slowing down.
After a voice says, “We’re hitting you,” you can hear a voice calling out to a person on the quay near the front of the ship, “Run, run!”
The ship finally came to a stop shortly after the people near the front escaped.
According to the Amami Coast Guard, just after 2 p.m. on the 8th, the captain of the Queen Coral Cross reported that the ship hit the quay with its bow while entering Wadomari Port on Okinoerabu Island.
There were 288 people on board, including passengers and crew, but there were no injuries and there was no oil spill.
According to Marix Line, which operates the ship, the ship is docked at Wadomari Port due to engine trouble and will not sail on the 8th.
