Queen Camilla revealed the state of her health to guests at Buckingham Palace, while it was known she was recovering from a chest infection.
On December 3, the Queen, 77, told guests at Buckingham Palace celebrations that she was canceling an upcoming state visit to Qatar because she was suffering from pneumonia.
Queen Camilla is recovering well but continues to experience episodic symptoms of post-viral fatigue from the chest infection the palace announced she had on November 5.
In particular, according to the Daily Mail, Buckingham Palace has until now talked about a nasty viral chest infection, but Queen Camilla decided to give more details to explain why she was not present at the Horse Guards Parade. He was not hospitalized and has completed his medication, but still suffers from side effects, including fatigue.
On the eve of the state visit, it was confirmed that the Queen would also scale back her role at the official state dinner later on December 3 due to her health. Queen Camilla is expected to pose for photos with the Amir and Sheikha Jawaharlal Nehru but will step aside during the traditional welcoming sequence. She is expected to attend the dinner and take part in farewells on December 4, the last day of her two-day stay.
Qatar’s Emir and his wife are in the UK at the invitation of King Charles, 76, and state visits are a key way for Britain to strengthen diplomatic ties. The upcoming state visit from Qatar was announced in October and in November it was revealed that Kate Middleton and Prince William will help host the reception on 3 December. It was important to see Princess Kate, 42, taking in the glamour, from greeting guests of honor to the splendor of Horse Guards Parade and the carriage ride back to the palace and beyond, as she gradually eases back into royal duties after completion of chemotherapy.
