Frédéric Perron is a college teacher. It was one of his students who told him about this project, which his father was working on. Interested, Mr. Perron decided to participate.
“There are several visits. A first where they take a sample of blood and urine, to see if I am a potential guinea pig, and then I have to come back seven or eight times, ”Mr. Perron told LCN on Friday.
At the end of these meetings, he received a first dose. However, he does not know whether or not it is the vaccine.
“There is a five in six chance that it is the vaccine and one chance that it is the placebo,” he stressed.
Mr. Perron says he has not really experienced any negative effects following the injection. “Kind of like any vaccine, pain and irritation in my arm, but I didn’t have a fever. After two days, my arm was perfectly normal, ”he added.
Mr. Perron is due to receive a second dose on December 21. However, he will not know for several months whether or not he has received the vaccine. “The study is over a year, it is after this moment that they will tell me what I have received,” he said.
At first he had some concerns, which were quickly dispelled by the specialists. The teacher did business with the Manna clinic in Mirabel, a Medicago subcontractor.
