The young painter, who has some 300 paintings to her credit, began her artistic career at the age of seven. She has already exhibited in several international cities, including Los Angeles.
In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, the Quebec teenager admitted that her participation in Artexpo is a dream come true for her.
“I’ve been waiting for so long to go. I was selected in 2019. I’ve been waiting for four years, it’s a little surreal that I can go. It seems that I don’t believe in it so much, but at the same time I can’t wait to see what people think of what I do,” explains Mégane Fortin.
“For the New York collection, I went more with pastel colors, colors punches. All the backgrounds, I made sure that there are backgrounds with medium, backgrounds with more textures so that there is consistency and that everything fits,” she adds.
Mégane Fortin looks forward to meeting international artists and receiving their advice in order to continue to advance her artistic approach.
Moreover, she explains that her art has evolved over the years.
“Seven years ago, I wasn’t doing what I do. There was no gait; I wasn’t thinking as much,” says the young artist.
