The Center de services scolaire du Fer is joining forces with other School Service Centers in Quebec to create a common liability insurance plan.

The objective is to counter the significant increase in costs of recent years while allowing sufficient coverage.

“In recent years, we have been faced with a significant increase in our premiums, which has led us to assess the best possible options to be well covered,” explains the director of the Center de services scolaire du Fer, Richard Poirier.

By insuring themselves, the various School Service Centers in the province will have risk coverage that is better adapted to reality, with more controlled costs. “Our analyzes showed that the reciprocal union project was the best avenue among our possibilities,” continues Mr. Poirier.

If all goes as planned, the self-insurance scheme should come into effect as early as July 2023.
