Quebec Politician Éric Duhaime Suffers Heart Attack

Quebec Conservative ‌Party ⁣leader Éric Duhaime experienced a heart⁤ attack on Friday evening but reassured the‌ public that he is recovering well.

In a ⁢post ⁤on X ‍(formerly Twitter) on Saturday afternoon, Duhaime stated, “Rest assured. I’m fine.”

The previous day, Duhaime was ⁤taken to the hospital by ​his‌ partner after‍ experiencing symptoms. Medical professionals who treated ‍him expressed confidence in his recovery.

“Our body sometimes sends us⁢ small ‍signals that we need to listen to in order to take a little ‌respite,” Duhaime added. he plans to take the remainder of the ‌year off to ‌fully recover and be ready for 2025.

Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) leader Éric Duhaime’s plans to seek⁣ a seat in the National Assembly ​have been put on hold following⁤ a recent health issue. An outpouring of support for Duhaime has emerged from across the Quebec‌ political⁣ spectrum. “Speed​ ​​recovery,⁢ Eric. Take care of yourself to get back in shape,” wrote⁤ Premier ​François Legault‍ on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Similar sentiments were expressed by prominent figures including Marc Tanguay, interim leader of ⁤the Quebec Liberal Party, ​Ruba Ghazal, co-spokesperson for Québec solidaire, and Paul ​St-Pierre Plamondon, leader of the Parti Québécois.

Duhaime’s health status and the timeline for his ‌return to campaigning remain unclear.
