Quebec and Chaudière-Appalaches report: a ninth employee of Costco Lebourgneuf positive for COVID-19 | COVID-19 | News | The sun

Lhe outbreak continues at the Costco store on rue Bouvier. The regional public health department reported on Thursday that eight staff members had contracted the virus. On Friday, a ninth employee was added to the toll of affected workers by testing positive for COVID-19.

The affected employees were all placed in isolation, recalls the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale.

The territory of the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale therefore has 1,984 people infected since the start of the health crisis, of which 1,729 are now considered to be cured.

While five hospitalizations are underway in the region, including one in intensive care, no new deaths are added to the 196 already recorded.

Chaudière-Appalaches

A single new case was confirmed in Chaudière-Appalaches on Friday. Identified in the MRC of Lotbinière, the latter brings to 587 the number of cases recorded in the territory since the start of the pandemic.

With its 322 cases, Lévis remains by far the most affected sector, ahead of Nouvelle-Beauce (56 cases). Lotbinière is ranked fourth (38 cases), behind the MRC des Appalaches (52 cases).

The number of people recovered is 556 and no one is hospitalized because of the virus.

The region continues to deplore eight deaths caused by COVID-19. The last of the deaths listed in Chaudière-Appalaches dates back to May 4.
