Fabio Quartararo must admit superiority Francesco Bagnaia from MotoGP San Marino 2021. The devil amazed that his rival won with worn rear tires.
14th series MotoGP 2021 took place at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Sunday (19/9/2021) evening WIB. Bagnaia started the race as pole, followed by Jack Miller and Quartararo in second and third.
Bagnaia immediately missed in the leading position since the leading lap. Rider Ducati it was a considerable lead, by about 2.9 seconds, leaving Miller and Quartararo early in the lap.
Fabio Quartararo managed to overtake Miller on lap 13 and tried to cut the points gap with Francesco Bagnaia. Team racer Monster Energy Yamaha it takes advantage of the use of tires hard medium on his motorbike to catch up with the tire-wearing FB63 hard soft.
Quartararo was able to approach Bagnaia in the last 3 laps when his rival slowed down due to worn rear tires. The gap between the two was even reduced to only 0.5 seconds.
Despite continued pressure from Quartararo, Bagnaia was still able to maintain his position until the finish line. The 24-year-old racer won the race with a time of 41 minutes 48.305 seconds, 0.364 seconds ahead of FQ20.
Quartararo spoke after the race MotoGP San Marino 2021. He admitted that he had tried to overtake Bagnaia, but his rival was still running and could not be caught.
“In the beginning Ducati attacked me from all sides and I wasted time, but I tried to put in a total performance. There were moments when the distance was getting closer, but Pecco was on another level today,” said Quartararo, quoted from Tuttomotoriweb.
“I don’t know how he can speed with worn tires. I actually still have a lot of advantages, but Bagnaia is great. He raced fantastically,” he said.
The result in San Marino does not change the position in the standings MotoGP 2021. Fabio Quartararo still at the top with 234 points, followed by Francesco Bagnaia who collected 186 points.
