Students at home because of Corona or quarantine
Schools and daycare centers in Bavaria are currently being affected more and more frequently by positive corona tests. As of Friday, 5.28 percent of Bavarian schoolchildren were absent either because of a positive corona test or because of quarantine in class, according to the Ministry of Education. According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, 1,270 of the around 10,200 care facilities – from crèches to after-school care centers – were affected, which is about every eighth.
Specifically, 63 facilities were completely closed and 876 partially closed. According to the ministry, only individuals were affected by quarantine measures in another 331 daycare centers. These are significant increases compared to the values a week earlier. At that time, 49 facilities were completely closed and 691 partially closed. Individuals were affected in 230 facilities.
As of Friday, 2.48 percent of the students had a positive corona test, 2.8 percent were in quarantine. A week earlier, the proportion of students with a positive test was 1.5 percent, and 2.3 percent were in quarantine at that time.
