Eduardo Franco, general secretary of the Venezuelan Positive People Network, RGV +, denounced that the quarantine has made it difficult that HIV patients in Carabobo state comply with their treatment.

Franco denounced that the shortage of antiretroviral drugs affects compliance with the treatments of the patients, as well as the refusal of the sentinel centers to attend to the consultations of patients with HIV, reported Unión Radio.

“There are only two pharmacies here: one in the Central Hospital of Valencia and the other in the Oncological Hospital of Naguanagua. We have not been able to bring the medicines to the people of Puerto Cabello, nor to the people of Guacara, “he said.

He added that mobility restrictions make it difficult to transport people with the human immunodeficiency virus to medical facilities. In addition, some health centers suspended follow-up medical visits to patients with HIV.

Franco demanded that health authorities provide medical assistance and supply of medications, especially to patients who are in stages of AIDS development.
