According to the minister, the decision to tighten restrictions is associated not only with the risks that create the emergence of a new Omicron strain in Europe, but also with the development of a pandemic in Poland.
“We are reducing the restrictions on the number of visitors from 75% to 50% in catering establishments, hotels, cultural institutions, churches, gyms. But vaccinated people are not counted in these restrictions,” he said.
At the same time, the minister added that at events such as a wedding or a disco, the maximum number of participants should be 100 people, whereas before the limit was 150. Sports events can be held with a maximum of 250 participants, instead of 500 earlier.
In recent weeks, the situation with the coronavirus in Poland has been deteriorating. Last week, for the first time since April, the country registered more than 28 thousand patients per day.
