“One of our holidaymakers informed us on Thursday that his partner in the Netherlands has tested positive for corona. The holidaymaker in question is immediately quarantined, and his travel companions transferred to another room. Testing

The Rhodesian had to be tested in order to return to the pool and buffet. “The participant had a pcr test, had no symptoms and was tested negative. According to the protocol, he can be part of the group again, ”said the Sunweb spokesperson.

On Friday, all 189 ‘lucky birds’ have to be tested again in connection with the return journey. A pcr test of 72 hours is mandatory to be able to travel back to the Netherlands. A quick test is also necessary just before departure.

On Monday, a group of 189 travelers left for a special holiday, which is looking at how to travel ‘corona proof’. The travel world yearns for perspective, because the sector has been staring at nothing for a year now due to the corona crisis. Until mid-May, the advice not to travel applies.

Mouth caps

During the test trips, independent researchers hired by the government look at how Dutch holidaymakers behave when traveling. The question is, for example, whether travelers adhere to the basic rules that apply there, such as washing hands, wearing mouth masks and keeping their distance.

Other participants on the trip have not noticed the excitement. “I haven’t heard of this yet and it doesn’t look like anything is going to happen,” said Marissa (22), who is on the trip. Another participant reports that she is sitting quietly with a cocktail in the Greek resort, and fully enjoying the trip. It will last until Monday and can continue as usual.

The guests have been tested twice prior to the trip, must keep a distance of 1.5 meters at the resort and wear masks in many places. They are also not allowed to leave the resort. On the other hand, they can fully enjoy the Greek sun and the facilities. The aim of the trial is to see how holidaymakers react to the restrictive measures.
