Quang Tri: Heavy rain, many places flooded deep at night

(PLO)- In Quang Tri, heavy rain occurred, causing many houses and roads to be deeply flooded.

Late on the night of November 13, heavy rain occurred, causing many localities in Quang Tri to be deeply flooded. Currently, in many places the water is continuing to rise, people are urgently cleaning up their belongings at night.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan – Chairman of Cam Lo District People’s Committee said that in the locality, the water is rising slowly, some houses in low-lying areas of Cam Tuyen commune, Cam Hieu commune, Cam Thuy commune are flooded.

According to Mr. Mai Chiem Hiep – Chairman of Cam Hieu Commune People’s Committee, from 3:00 p.m. on the same day, there was heavy rain in the commune and the rainfall gradually increased in the late afternoon. By the evening of the same day, the homes of more than 100 households were flooded.

Mr. Hiep added that in response to this flood, more than 100 households in Cam Hieu commune have been relocated to a safe place.

At the same time, each village has a shock team of about 30 people using on-site vehicles to help people pack up their belongings.

Currently, agencies and functional forces in Cam Lo district are continuing to monitor the developments of floods and rains to take timely response measures.

On the same day, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Quang Tri province also sent a telegram to agencies, units and localities on proactively deploying response to floods.
