Qualified and postponed in Q1 (provisional) – GP Inside

The first day of the Grand Prix of the Americas is over. Improvements could occur in FP3, Saturday, if the driving conditions allow it. In the meantime, here are the results of the day, with the drivers provisionally qualified in Q2 and failed in Q1.

Austin – MotoGP J1 Combined (provisionally top-10 in Q2):

It goes without problem for the leader of the championship, Fabio Quartararo (3rd), and his runner-up, Francesco Bagnaia (6th). The two men, however, will have a lot to do to defeat Marc Marquez (1st) and Jack Miller (2nd), who dominated the first two sessions. The Spaniard and the Australian seem to have a little something extra here.

The reigning world champion, Joan Mir (13th), will cross his fingers to have an FP3 in the dry, or he will have to go through the repechage. The same goes for the official KTM riders, Brad Binder (11th) and Miguel Oliveira (18th), the latter having fallen. Aleix Espargaro (19th) should also be one of the provisional non-qualifiers to follow after his fall at the end of the session.

Austin – Combined J1 Moto2 (provisionally top-14 in Q2):

Austin – Moto3 J1 Combined (provisionally top-14 in Q2):

No alert for the leader of the championship, Pedro Acosta (7th), who did more than ensure the essentials for his first kilometers in Austin. He is four tenths behind his runner-up, Dennis Foggia (3rd), and a second ahead of the third in the general classification, Sergio Garcia (14th), who has more difficulty after a heavy fall in FP1. The French Lorenzo Fellon (17th) is only three tenths behind the Spaniard, who occupies the last directly qualifying place for Q2.
