Qualified against the United States, Uruguay joins France’s group at the 2023 World Cup

Uruguay, winner of the United States on Saturday, qualified for the 2023 Rugby World Cup, where the Teros will meet the host French but also New Zealand and Italy. Beaten 19-16 in the first leg, the South Americans made short work of the Eagles (34-15) in the return match in Montevideo.

Uruguay will play its third World Cup in a row, the fifth in its history. The Teros inherited Pool A with, in particular, the Blues and the All Blacks. The Americans, for their part, will have a chance to make up for it, provided they beat Chile, Canada’s surprise striker, in the draft round, scheduled for July 2022.
