Rúrik Gíslason is currently enchanting millions of “Let’s Dance” fans with his dance skills. Until recently, the 33-year-old Icelander kicked the ball himself. At the 2018 World Cup, he even played against superstar Lionel Messi. In the meantime, football is over, but he knows: The DFB-Elf must dress warmly at the beginning of the World Cup qualification when they play against their compatriots from Iceland.

“We’re all good friends, we’ve played together for 15 years or more. They deserved it, they worked hard for it. The atmosphere in the team is really good,” he reveals in an interview with RTL. And further: “I think we don’t get that many chances against Germany, so we have to defend ourselves really well to use them.”
