Qualcomm’s Four New Chipsets Announced

Jakarta, Selular.ID – Qualcomm introduces four new mobile platforms, namely Snapdragon 778G Plus 5G, 695 5G, 480 Plus 5G, and 680 4G. This range of chipsets is said to improve performance and capabilities across top, mid, and entry-level devices.

These 5G and 4G mobile platforms enable enhanced performance and capabilities to provide OEMs with additional options to meet consumer demands.

“Middle-class smartphones are expected to be the main driver to accelerate the use of 5G devices, especially in developing countries,” said Deepu John, Senior
Director, Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

“The four new additions to our roadmap provide significant opportunities for Qualcomm’s OEM customers and offer a range of additional options to continue to meet their demands for our 5G and 4G mobile platform products.”

There is significant traction and momentum across the Snapdragon tier. The latest features embedded in Snapdragon 8-series to 7-series, 6, and 4-series play a role in the increasing demand for each Snapdragon series. Snapdragon 7-series grew by 44% in the last year due to very high demand for high-end models.

For the 6-series, consumer trends show that mid-range smartphones will be the main driver in the use of 5G, especially in developing countries. In addition, in less than a year, more than 85 devices using Snapdragon 480 have been announced or are in development.
