jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Qualcomm recently denied reports that the company is developing its own line of gaming smartphones.
This was announced by Qualcomm right on the sidelines of the launch of the latest Snapdragon 888 processor at the annual Snapdragon Tech Summit 2020 event.
Qualcomm China President Frank Meng said they made many smartphone prototypes to showcase the company’s technology to its partners, not to general users.
“We will continue to do this going forward, but do not sell smartphone prototypes commercially,” said Frank Meng, as quoted by Gizchina, Thursday (12/3).
Frank added that the smartphone prototype was not designed for the consumer market.
Additionally, Frank stated that there are no plans to change Qualcomm’s current business model.
Qualcomm was rumored to be making gaming phones. Qualcomm will partner with US company Asus to develop Gamin phones.
Unfortunately, there has been no confirmation from Qualcomm or Asus regarding this report. (ddy / jpnn)
