During the Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm presented its new chip aimed at always-connected PCs. The Snapdragon X Elite integrates the new Snapdragon X Series as the most powerful platform ever created by the company for computers.
According to the company, the new feature consists of the most powerful, intelligent and efficient processor in its category for machines equipped with the Windows operating system. TudoCelular followed the company’s announcements and shows you in detail.
Main features
The Snapdragon bandwidth of up to 136 GB/s and 42 MB of total cache.
In terms of numbers, the CPU on the chip allows for up to two times faster performance compared to the 12-core competition, as well as a power consumption of one third. Additionally, there is up to 60% greater performance even when compared to the rival 14-core chip.
The integrated Adreno GPU supports an internal display with resolution up to 4K at 120 Hz and is compatible with HDR10. Regarding external screens, it is possible to connect three Ultra HD or two 5K. The graphics have a capacity of 4.6 TFLOPS and will contain upgradable drivers.
Qualcomm promises GPU performance up to twice as high as one of its competitors, with a quarter of the energy consumption. Compared to another rival, the performance gain can reach up to 80%, with a fifth of the energy use.
The chip will also have a special focus on Artificial Intelligence, with 13 billion parameters running on the device for generative AI. The platform will support INT4 and 45 TOPS capacity. There’s also a 2.5 times faster Tensor accelerator and twice the size of shared memory.
The component’s Qualcomm Hexagon NPU also provides a gain of up to 100 times in the total number of operations per second, compared to a competitor’s laptop launched in the same year, 2023.
Completing the main parts of the component is the Qualcomm Sensing Hub, which combines the main camera sensors, the voice and audio part, as well as connectivity. Here the company guarantees twice as much AI power and 50% more memory.
Snapdragon Connect allows compatibility with Wi-Fi 7, 5G, Multi-link and up to 10 GB/s speed; Snapdragon Sound provides lossless and immersive audio; the Snapdragon Sight has an advanced camera via an integrated ISP that always works; and Snaapdragon Secure delivers solutions for protection zero trust and memory encryption.

According to Qualcomm, PCs powered by the Snapdragon X Elite are expected to be launched by manufacturers in mid-2024. The manufacturers confirmed to have machines with the company’s chip have not yet been revealed.
