Qualcomm will announce its most powerful chipset later this month. Instead of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, the name of the chip is Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Snapdragon 8 Elite is expected to be Qualcomm’s fastest chipset to date, offering a significant performance boost compared to its predecessor. Although the details of the official specification are still kept under wraps, rumors are circulating that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be built on TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process, promising better power efficiency and performance.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite has eight cores, including two performance cores and six efficiency cores. Qualcomm is believed to have adopted Nuvia’s internal architecture.

For your information, Nuvia was founded by former Apple engineers and was acquired by Qualcomm in 2021. The company even has Snapdragon X series laptop chips based on this architecture.
Several benchmarks that have been released show an increase in CPU performance up to 35% and GPU up to 30% compared to Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This will definitely improve the mobile gaming experience, multi- work and use other heavy applications to a higher degree.
Obviously, based on Geekbench test results released by Digital Talk Station, Snapdragon 8 Elite got an outstanding score. In the single-core test, it scored 3,236, and the multi-core scored 10,049.
Of course, the actual results will have to wait for the official release. According to reports, Qualcomm will release Snapdragon 8 Elite on October 21.

Several major smartphone manufacturers are reportedly preparing to adopt the Snapdragon 8 Elite on their flagship devices. The names are not much different from last year.
Yes, Xiaomi will be the first to adopt the chip. This is the Xiaomi 15 series that will be supported by Snapdragon 8 Elite and the launch event is expected to be later this month.

On October 14, the Vivo X200 will be released, followed by the Oppo Find X8 on October 28. Both these mobile phones will be supported by the Dimensity 9400, which is actually a competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Another cell phone that will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite is the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung is expected to launch this mobile phone in January 2025.
