The American company Qualcomm ad this Monday the development of Quick Charge 5, its new “world’s fastest” commercial charging technology for Android devices, offering “unprecedented speed and efficiency improvements for mobile phone charging,” the statement said.
According to the technology company, the novelty has capacity for more than 100W of charging power and allows users to charge up to 50% of the battery of their phones in just 5 minutes and fully load it into 15 minutes.
Quick Charge 5 also uses Battery Saver technology and Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities to increase performance and efficiency and help extend the life cycle of the device battery.
“Quick Charge 5, our solution faster and more versatile chargingwill allow consumers to enjoy their devices longer, without worrying about the time it takes to recharge them, “said Ev Roach, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies.
Additionally, the technology is optimized to take advantage of protocols USB Power Delivery like USB Type-C, so it should be able to charge larger electronic devices than smartphones at full speed.
Quick Charge 5 will be available on more than 1,200 mobile devices from the third quarter of 2020.
