Québec Solidire, its candidate Nancy Mongeau in Johnson and its candidate Tony Martel in Drummond-Bois-Francs reaffirm their commitment to health and the construction of a new hospital in Drummondville.
Québec Solidire wants to change the way healthcare is provided by supporting existing infrastructures in a first term. Furthermore, the solidarity proposals will make it possible to better serve the population in the most remote regions of the Johnson and Drummond-Bois-Francs stables, with the aim of relieving congestion in the emergency rooms of local hospitals.
Québec Solidire’s proposals to improve the first line of health care are mainly to increase access to local health care through CLSC by offering extended opening hours, to improve and modernize the Info-Santé line; 8-1-1, and to break down health care by focusing on multidisciplinary teamwork and thus allowing health and social services workers to work to the best of their skills and training.
“After the release of the doctors asking for a new hospital in the Drummond region, my first instinct as a candidate for solidarity is to notice that health care workers are gold mines of solutions to straighten our health system. Health. I am still aware of that. before proposing a project of this magnitude, we must also address the problems we are facing right now. You cannot build a new hospital and force it to function in a dysfunctional system, that would not help anyone, “says Tony Martel, a candidate for Drummond. Bois-Francs.
Johnson’s candidate Nancy Mongeau also adds “that we need a more humane, more flexible, more autonomous public health system that respects all the professions that evolve there. We need to be able to offer people more options for emergencies and bring assistance closer to living environments. In addition, our seniors must have the opportunity to age in place and we can achieve this by supporting support organizations for caregivers. ”
In addition to frontline access, Québec Solidire wishes to improve home care needs to bridge the existing gap and ensure better working conditions for nurses, such as a Wall-to-Wall Relationship Act, the abolition of mandatory overtime ( TSO), the gradual end of the use of private employment agencies and the introduction of self-management of timetables.
