According to the newspaper, Qin is now cooperating with Chinese investigators who are trying to determine whether the relationship may have harmed China’s security.
Qin was China’s ambassador to Washington from July 2021 until January this year, when he took over the post as foreign minister. Just a few months later, he mysteriously disappeared from public view, and in July he was replaced by Wang Yi.
Chinese authorities have not wanted to comment on the information in Wall Street Journal and it is not known who Qin had a relationship with while he was ambassador to the United States.
However, according to the newspaper’s information, Qin had a child with the woman he had a relationship with.
